The third tip I have is a very quick one. That is, don’t listen to certain players telling you TAG is bad, or that loose aggressive is much better. Different strategies are good for different people. TAG is a proven strategy, it is extremely low risk and you can profit massively from it. So just stick with TAG for now and when you get better you can branch out.

Texas holdem is using four variations and is distinguished from each other by their betting limits. In limit Texas holdem there is a predetermined betting limit on each round of betting. In no limit a player can bet any amount up to all of his chips. Pot limit, a player can bet any amount, up to the size of the pot. And mixed, the game switches between rounds of limit and no limit.

The game consists of two cards being dealt face down to each player and then five community cards being placed by the dealer a series of three (the flop) then two additional single cards (the turn and the river), with players having the option to check, bet or fold after each deal, betting may occur prior to the flop, on the flop, on the turn, and on the river.

In limit Texas holdem individuals compete for an amount of money contributed by the players themselves called the pot. The cards are dealt randomly and outside the control of players and each player attempts to control the amount of money in the pot based on the hand the player holds. The game is divided into a series of hands or deals.

When you are up against only one or two opponents on the river it is also important to bet your made one pair hands on the river if you have been driving the betting the rest of the hand. This is because your opponents at a typical no foldem holdem game will call the final river bet with as little as Ace-high. If you are raised then you should almost always throw away all one pair hands. The exception to this is against a tricky opponent who thinks they can make a river-bluff raise in the past.

A conclusion is also made if all but one player have folded and the pot is awarded to the player who has not folded.
